Project 1: Historic Building Assessment and Recording in  King's Cliffe, Northants

In this project, PRO Archaeology conducted a comprehensive historic assessment of a historic building slated for renovation in King's Cliffe, Northamptonshire. Our team undertook extensive research, including archival investigations and on-site surveys, to identify the site's historical significance. By collaborating closely with local heritage authorities, we ensured that our findings informed the construction plans, allowing for the preservation of important architectural features and artefacts. The project not only provided valuable insights into the building's past but also enhanced the overall design approach, leading to a respectful integration of modern needs with historical integrity.

Project 2: Excavation of Roman Remains in Gillingham, Kent

PRO Archaeology was engaged in a large-scale excavation project at a site where we discovered Roman remains at Gillingham in Kent. This challenging project involved careful planning and the use of advanced archaeological techniques to uncover and document artefacts and structures from the Roman era. Our dedicated team worked diligently to ensure the site was excavated with care, maintaining accurate records of findings and their context. The outcome of the excavation not only enriched our understanding of the area's historical landscape but also provided significant data for academic research and public education. The project exemplified our expertise in balancing archaeological integrity with construction timelines, ensuring minimal disruption to overall project schedules. Project 3: New religious community building in Birmingham

In our role as heritage consultants, PRO Archaeology provided expert advice for a new religious building in Birmingham in 2024. Our team conducted an archaeological trial trench evaluation across the area of impact. By engaging with stakeholders, including local councils and community groups, we facilitated discussions that highlighted the importance of heritage conservation in new developments. Our recommendations led to the incorporation of heritage-friendly design elements within the project, thus fostering a connection between the new builds and the historical context of the area. This project underscores our commitment to sustainable development that respects and integrates the past with the future.

Project 4: Historic Building Recording and archaeological watching brief

PRO Archaeology conducted a historic building survey report and archaeological watching brief for conversion of a historic barns into new luxury high end accommodation units in East Sussex. The Level 2 Historic Building Recording was supported by an archaeological watching brief on all footings and service trenches. Key historic architectural features highlighted by the building recording were kept to ensure the historic authenticity of the development. Some walls which were thought to be historic, were proved to be modern re-builds by using a photo archive from the neighbouring property.
